A Religious Naturalist orientation is growing in the academic community. It is a well established interest group within the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science . It is one of four main areas of interest in the Highlands Institute for American Religious and Philosophical Thought  . Articles appear frequently in Zygon and the Journal of Liberal Religion  . There are three active email discussion groups.  

The traveling team of Barlow  and Dowd are introducing Religious Naturalism to hundreds of congregations across the US. Their approach of living religiously within a naturalistic framework is being well received. Religious Naturalism is also receiving attention in traditional religious circles - Christian , Jewish , Quaker  and Unitarian Universalists .
